Exciting times are ahead for Karachi as the Sindh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has just approved a massive Rs84.796 billion investment for 523 development schemes. For instance, vital road rehabilitation efforts alongside the construction of underpasses and flyovers will significantly streamline transport within the metropolitan hub.
These development schemes won’t just focus on roads. They include the restoration of major arteries, upgrading traffic management systems, developing parks, and beautifying key roads to create a more livable environment. Mayor Murtaza Wahab stated that these initiatives were finalized after extensive field assessments and consultations, ensuring they address real urban challenges effectively.
On another front, the provincial government is also investing in rail infrastructure that ties the Thar coalmines to Port Qasim. This project will facilitate smoother coal transport for power generation and industry, reflecting a comprehensive plan for both urban and rural progress in Sindh.
