Exciting Developments in Islamabad’s Housing Project!

After what feels like forever—more than 20 years, to be exact—there’s finally some progress to report from Islamabad’s Sector I-15 housing project. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started handing over possession of over 8,600 out of the planned 10,200 developed plots. This initiative is valued at an impressive Rs70 billion!

At a recent ceremony held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, more than 200 allottees received their possession orders—a significant milestone for a project initially intended to support low-income families. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa shared how this new development is aligned with the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, emphasizing the importance of addressing the housing needs of our capital city.

A big shout-out to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for their role in clearing up legal issues and helping to speed up the process. They played a crucial role in ensuring that allottees have their legal rights protected, making the journey smoother.

For those who didn’t receive their certificates yet, no worries! The CDA has assured that the remaining allottees will have their certificates delivered right to their doorsteps soon.

Looking ahead, the CDA is collaborating with SUPARCO to implement advanced technology aimed at curbing land-related irregularities. NAB DG Waqar Ahmed Chauhan congratulated the allottees and provided the good news that document verification was completed before handing over possession letters. With plans for a new transparency system, we’re expecting barcoded allotment letters and mandatory escrow accounts for housing societies. These measures promise to ensure that funds are used responsibly for development.

Beyond just this sector, the CDA is also accelerating work in other delayed areas, like C-14, with possession expected to be handed over to allottees soon. The commitment to improving the housing situation in Islamabad has undoubtedly strengthened public confidence in the CDA’s policies.

We understand how important a home is, and these developments signal a positive shift in the housing landscape of Islamabad.
