Local Security Forces Make Significant Strides Against Terrorism in Hangu
In recent news from Hangu, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, a joint security operation led to the neutralization of at least five terrorists in the Zargari area. Local officials reported that the operation was the result of actionable intelligence regarding terrorist activities in the region.
The operation wasn’t without its challenges; there were intense exchanges of gunfire, leaving Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Khalid Khan and Doaba SHO Nabi Khan, alongside one security forces officer, injured. Thankfully, DPO Khan is reported to be in stable condition. He has been transferred to Kohat and may be airlifted to Peshawar for further treatment. The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, reached out to the injured officers, showing that support permeates through the ranks.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also stressed the value of the officers’ courage during his phone call with DPO Khan, noting the leadership displayed throughout the operation. Naqvi commended the Hangu police team, highlighting how their decisive actions delivered a significant blow to the terrorist group known as "Fitna Al-Hindustan." He emphasized that these brave men are a source of pride for the nation.
President Asif Ali Zardari has also praised the security forces for their effectiveness in neutralizing the threat, reiterating the commitment to combating terrorism head-on. He acknowledged that while these terrorists aim to disrupt peace and stability, the nation stands united against such attempts, determining to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.
