ILLINOIS (KFVS) – A southern Illinois small business was added to the Illinois Made program.
According to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Pink Tiger Farm in Goreville was one of 20 new small businesses added to the program.
Each year, the Office of Tourism selects a group of locally owned businesses, known as Illinois Made Makers.
“Small businesses are the heartbeat of Illinois’ economy, and the Illinois Made program supports the local artisans who help define our state’s unique character,” DCEO Director Kristin Richards said in a news release. “This year’s class of Illinois Makers reflects the creativity and craftsmanship found in every corner of our state, inviting travelers to discover the experiences that make Illinois a true destination.”
Other new businesses recently added include:
Chicago & Beyond (Chicago and surrounding suburbs)
Great Rivers Country (Northwest and Southwest Illinois)
Land of Lincoln (Central Illinois)
- Ceramics Made by Rosie – Springfield*
- Whimsey Tea Company – Springfield
* Woman-owned businesses, LGBTQIA+-owned businesses, and/or businesses owned by people of color
According to the DCEO, the Illinois Made program was launched in 2016 and now includes 277 makers.
