The Pakistan Navy’s emergency response teams are on the ground, utilizing hovercraft, rescue boats, and divers to assist those affected in districts like Kashmore, Ghotki, and Sukkur. These efforts are crucial as they work tirelessly to ensure that those stranded receive necessary aid.
According to Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the flood levels are cause for concern, with notable statistics showing inflows and outflows of water at various barrages. Over the past 24 hours, more than 5,000 individuals have been relocated, bringing the total to over 163,000. Additionally, the government has established relief camps, sheltering almost 500 people and providing much-needed medical care through 177 health sites.
In terms of livestock, which is vital for many farmers, over 11,500 animals have been relocated recently, with veterinary teams on standby to ensure they are treated and vaccinated.
