Pakistan’s Digital Revolution: New Submarine Internet Cables Set to Transform Connectivity

The newly planned cables will help mitigate issues linked to older, outage-prone cables like Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1) and South East Asia–Middle East–Western Europe 4 (SMW-4). This infrastructure expansion is central to the government’s broader digital strategy. By enhancing service delivery and attracting investments, Pakistan aims to encourage businesses to scale up in an increasingly connected economy.
