Train Travel Delays in Lahore: What You Need to Know

If you’re planning to travel by train in Pakistan, especially from Lahore, you might want to check the schedule closely before heading out. Recent heavy rains across the country have caused significant delays, leaving many passengers stranded at railway stations for hours. It’s a good reminder of how weather can impact our travel plans, right?

On Wednesday, the operational hiccups primarily affected various routes, particularly those from Lahore to major cities like Karachi, Quetta, and Rawalpindi. The challenges led Pakistan Railways to adjust several train schedules, and it’s crucial for passengers to stay informed about these changes.

For instance, the Karakoram Express (42-Down), which usually departs at 3:00 PM, is now set to leave an hour later at 4:00 PM. The delays don’t stop there. The Karachi Express (16-Down) has encountered a significant setback, departing nearly 3 hours and 45 minutes behind schedule. Instead of its regular 6:00 PM time, it’ll now leave at 9:45 PM. That’s quite a wait for those eager to reach their destination!

Another train, the Green Line (6-Down), is also experiencing delays. It’s set to depart at 9:35 PM, roughly 45 minutes later than expected. Meanwhile, the Millat Express (18-Down) from Faisalabad will leave at 9:30 PM, which is 3 hours and 40 minutes behind schedule.

If you’re a passenger on the Pak business Express (34-Down) or the Shah Hussain Express (44-Down), officials are arranging alternate transportation to help you reach your destination, so be sure to check with the staff at the station for updates.

For those traveling and needing assistance, the Divisional Superintendent Railways Lahore, Inamullah, has ensured that staff are present at all times to facilitate passenger queries. It’s always a good idea to stay connected and reach out for real-time updates, so don’t hesitate to call Railway Inquiry at 042-117 or 042-99070011.

Traveling can be stressful, especially when delays occur, but staying informed helps. Remember to keep your phone charged and ready for any announcements. In these unpredictable times, being prepared is key.
