Sindh Cabinet’s New Policies: A Step Toward Progress

The Sindh cabinet has just rolled out a series of exciting policy changes aimed at making life smoother for its citizens. Headed by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the recent cabinet meeting focused on improving administrative efficiency, enhancing road safety, and preserving the rich heritage of the province.

One of the standout proposals is a new vehicle registration system that links registrations to Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs). Imagine holding onto your personalized vehicle number plate even after selling your car! This move aims to simplify tracking vehicle ownership, boost tax compliance, and align with international practices. The cabinet has also greenlit a pilot project to test this initiative before it goes province-wide.

But that’s not all! The cabinet approved the establishment of vehicle fitness centers to ensure commercial vehicles are safe on the roads. These centers will kick off in major cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur. The best part? Fitness certification will be mandatory for commercial vehicles, helping reduce accidents and improve safety standards.

In a bid to breathe new life into historical sites, the cabinet allocated Rs20 million for a resurvey of over 3,000 historical buildings, many facing neglect. Expert committees will assess these sites and recommend necessary restoration measures, ensuring that Sindh’s rich heritage is preserved for future generations.

And let’s not forget the education sector. The cabinet approved amendments to the rules governing educational boards to allow more accessible appointments. This change could relieve recruitment bottlenecks, making it easier to improve the educational landscape of Sindh.

Furthermore, the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) will now be under the purview of Sukkur IBA University. This shift aims for better standardization and continuity, benefiting students aspiring to enter the medical field.

With these initiatives, the Sindh cabinet is moving toward a more efficient, safe, and culturally rich province.
