Tragic Accident in Sargodha: A Community in Mourning
This past Saturday, a heartbreaking incident unfolded in Sargodha, Punjab, leaving a community reeling from loss. A tragic truck accident claimed the lives of at least 14 people, all of whom were traveling from Islamabad to Faisalabad to attend a funeral. The dense fog that blanketed the region was a significant factor, leading to dangerously low visibility.
The accident occurred near Ghalapur Bangla in Kot Momin tehsil, where a mini-truck veered off the road and plunged into a dry canal. Rescue teams rushed to the scene as soon as they received reports of the crash. Sadly, seven individuals lost their lives at the scene, and as the injured were transported to local hospitals, another seven succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
Among the deceased were women and children, with lives cut short unexpectedly. The names of those who lost their lives include Misri Khan, Haleema Bibi, Yaseen, Sonia Bibi, and several others, all of whom belonged to the same community in Islamabad. And while the tragedy is immeasurable, the community has come together to support one another in this difficult time.
Road safety should always be a priority, especially during adverse weather conditions like fog. This incident serves as a painful reminder of the dangers that can arise unexpectedly.
