Turok: Origins – A Nostalgic Revival at Gamescom

When Universal Studios approached Saber in 2020 to develop the Turok intellectual property (IP), they were pleasantly surprised. Jesus Iglesias, the studio head, admitted they were "shocked" because Turok had been "asleep for a long time."
Saber Interactive, which has a history of rebooting nostalgic titles, aims to blend elements from the "Jurassic Park" and "Predator" franchises for this new installment. It’s about time! With around 250 talented people working on "Turok: Origins," the game promises both single-player and multiplayer modes, letting players team up against AI-controlled foes.
Unlike the original games, which often felt a bit clunky, this reboot is set to deliver a smoother, more cinematic experience, meeting today’s gamer expectations. Iglesias noted that they’re being respectful of the original games while also adding enhancements to create a more cohesive universe.
You might remember the 2008 reboot, which didn’t quite capture the magic of the original series. Thankfully, "Turok: Origins" looks like it’s on the right track to recapture that spirit. Although there’s no confirmed release date yet, it’s expected to launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
