Hajj Refunds: What You Need to Know
The Hajj pilgrimage is a significant event for Muslims around the globe, and it’s not just about fulfilling a spiritual duty—it’s also a time filled with expectations and financial considerations. Recently, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that 67,377 Hajj pilgrims will receive refunds, totaling an impressive Rs3.45 billion. So, how will these refunds look? According to the government, the amounts refunded will be based on actual expenses incurred by pilgrims. For instance, about 14% of pilgrims can expect refunds ranging from Rs12,286 to Rs12,000, while 16% will receive amounts between Rs13,000 and Rs25,000. Additionally, some pilgrims will be receiving significantly larger refunds—20,302 pilgrims will get Rs75,000, while 408 lucky individuals will be refunded Rs110,000.

For those participating in the 40-day Hajj program, the cost stands at Rs11,50,000, whereas a shorter version will set you back Rs12,00,000. It’s worth noting that bookings through the official scheme have been completed, with final arrangements for private quota bookings nearly sorted out.
