ISLAMABAD:
A five member bench of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikarndar Sultan Raja, on Wednesday gave National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub until July 1 to appoint a lawyer in the disqualification reference against him.
Ayub appeared before the commission. He told the bench that he had received the copy of the reference but had not appointed a counsel to plead his case. he also said that he would be busy during the upcoming budget session, therefore he should be granted time until end of the budget session.
